Hi everyone! On Saturday, Valentina Moosewright hosted a nostalgic filled event. Everyone met up at Steve's Farm dressed in our original Frosty Roses uniform (or our current Moon Explorers uniform if members did not own it) riding our Morgan horses! The first activity was "Never Have I Ever". It included questions which were all about "the good old days". First, we all got into a circle and if we HAD done this before, we had to dismount and stand in the middle of the circle. Here are some questions: "Whenever you got injured at school, no matter if it was serious or not, did the teacher tell you to get a wet paper towel as if it's the most healing object in the world?" "Have you ever drawn on a rubber at school when you were bored?" "Have you ever had fish and chips served in a newspaper?" In the second activity, we went around the circle and told each other our favourite memories in FR/ME overall. If you didn't have any favourites, we were told to say one thing you really like about ME so far! Our favourite memories varied from memes to events and of course outside communication with the members of the club involving climbs, movie nights and AO bip bap bops!
In the third and final activity, Val asked questions based around SSO's evolution through the years. We all stood in the line and when Val asked us a question, if we knew the answer, we would run towards her. The first person to get there would answer, and if they were incorrect it would be passed onto someone else. Some questions were: "In what game did the SSO storyline start?" "Were Moorland Stables ever remade?" "What was the first horse with their own new animations?" "How did the old loading screen look like?" In first place with 3 points was Violet Westbear, in second place with 2 points was Nikolett Highfoot and the final runner ups with 1 points were myself, Leah Bravestream, Willow Kittengarden and Avis Dolphinhall! The rest of the members got 0 points. Thank you to Val for hosting a great event! I enjoyed it a lot. - Liz

Hello everyone! On the 18th of August Sophia Puppyvalley hosted a racing event which would earn us money on discord. To begin with, we met at Steve's Farm. For this event we were put into groups of 4 and we would race against each other then each winner would earn £200 on discord from Alli. It sounds very simple but it ended up being quite challenging due to the different shortcuts on races etc. We started off at Steve's and made our way through all the different races in Silverglade up to the Riding Hall. When we finished our final race in the Riding Hall, a big final race was announced. Alli chose a spot in Jorvik and we all raced against each other to find a way to get to her quickest. In third place was Soap herself which earned her £200, in second place was Nik who earned £500 and in first place was Tuba who earned £1000! Thank you Soap for hosting this event, I enjoyed it!
- Ham Hey everyone! On Thursday we hosted another open event for people on our waiting list to attend. This week's open event was a bit different than usual - I wanted to try out a different style of event and see how it worked. Instead of splitting everyone into 3 main groups where the majority of the event and it's games would happen, I split everyone into small teams of 3 - 4 people at the meeting location, Dew's Paddock in Epona. The teams were split with 2 people from the waiting list and 1, or 2 in some cases, member(s) of the club. Once put into their teams, they were to group each other. The event was a riddle/clue based "scavenger hunt". Around Jorvik 5 of our Riding Instructors were hidden in different locations. Working in their teams, everyone had to follow the first clue given out by myself " among the green I stand, as I listen to the pitter patter of little creatures above me in the trees " to find the first hidden RI. Once they found them, they would give them another riddle to find the next RI. There were 6 clues in total, with myself being at the final location where everyone would meet up to finish the event. The riddle goes as follows: - "Among the green I stand, as I listen to the pitter patter of little creatures above me in the trees." This would lead them to Olivia Deerdotter in Greendale forest. - "I tread carefully through the woods, I do not want to wake the beast." At the bear cave in Firgrove they would find Nikolett Highfoot (on Paige Waterfall's account, since she got chat ban). - "Hiking through the snow, stepping carefully on ice, what is that giant thing I see in the distance?" Following the directions of the clue they would have found Hannah Dolphincamp at the dinosaur skeleton in Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur. - "The stomping of hooves, the breeze of the wind, I sit under the grand tree." Picking apart the words of this riddle would leave them at the ancient tree in the middle of South Hoof Peninsula where Elizabeth Ponyson would be waiting. - "Dark green grass, trees as tall as mountains, and the howling of a creature nearby." Anyone clever enough to pin point howling to wolves would meet Leah Bravestream at the Wolf Den in Mistfall. - "Finally, I rest among the golden and great, falling leaves all around me." The final location was at Goldenleaf Forest in Golden Hills Valley where I, Allison Cloudmore, was waiting. The winning teams were Katelyn Spinglake, Susan Purpleheart and Georgia Winterrider in 1st place, with Dorothy Waterwood, Scarlett Dawndew and Sophia Puppyvalley following closely behind in 2nd place, and Madison Applecrest, Autumn Bluebard and Lauren Lightningvalley in 3rd place! At 7:15 I announced where the final location was and who the winners were, and everyone met up at Goldenleaf Forest. After unfortunately discovering there are absolutely ZERO picnic's in Golden Hills Valley, we settled for a crouch of shame around the fire in the smuggler's cave where members voted for who they wanted to see inside the club. After a bit of discussion it was decided that Madison Applecrest and Tuva Clearwater were joining the club this week! Welcome to both of you! And a huge thank you to everyone that came to the open event, and to our Riding Instructors for being such great helps and making sure it worked out so well! I might try doing some more unique open event ideas in the future considering how well this one went. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did, and I hope to see you again at our next open event on the 27th of September!
- Alli Hello everyone! On Tuesday, Geo held a "Picture Event". At 7:00, we all met up at Steve's Farm in uniform riding our Morgan's. The aim of the game was to take a picture at the place(s) that Geo described. However, she described the place we had to go to in riddles, and so we had to figure out these riddles either by ourselves or in pairs. Once we got to the place we thought was the place that was described in the riddle, we sent the picture over to Geo via Discord. Here are some examples of the riddles: "An abandoned area that not many people go to, but its near the paddock where we go for the OE" "A place known for the houses, near a bridge that leads to a grass land" "Use to be popular for AFK people" Geo was standing in the final destination which was New Hillcrest where she waited for the first people to get to her. Myself and Liz who worked together as a pair managed to reach Geo first, making us the winners!
Thank you Geo for a really fun event! See you next time, - Nik Hello everyone! On Thursday Camelia Greenstone hosted a Harry Potter themed event. To start off we met at Valedale Lake to get put into our houses. Ham, Nemo, Liz and Eba got put into Gryffindor, Alli, Nik, Kat and Kaz got put into Ravenclaw, Soap, Loz, Geo and Abs got put into Hufflepuff and Ele, Avi, Forcey and Eagle (which later turned into Urs) got put into Slytherin. We changed our top colour depending on the house we got put into. Once we were in our houses, we started the mini games. For the first game, Cam described an NPC to us and we had to guess it. The first person to get it would win a point for their team. An example of one is “This NPC is a stable girl and one of the first people you meet” which was Maya and Alli guessed it first earning Ravenclaw a point. Some of them were quite easy however some names were quite hard to remember! For our second game one of our team members had to hide and another team would find them. Geo, Liz, Forcey and Alli with Ravenclaw searching Geo, Hufflepuff searching Forcey, Slytherin searching Liz and Gryffindor searching Alli. In the end, Ravenclaw won this activity finding Geo first, followed by Hufflepuff then Slytherin with Gryffindor in last. For the final mini game, there were a set of duels. Two members from each team would step forward and go against a different team. To win a duel, you had to point at the opposing person before they did once Cam had said go. The first duel was between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, with Nik and Alli representing Ravenclaw and Geo and Loz Hufflepuff. Geo won against Alli and Nik against Loz leaving a tiebreaker which then lead to Ravenclaw winning. The second duel was Ham and Liz representing Gryffindor and Urs and Forcey representing Slytherin. Ham won against Urs and Forcey won against Liz leaving another tie breaker which Gryffindor won. The final two duels were between the losers and the winners. First was Soap and Abs for Hufflepuff vs Ele and Avi for Slytherin, with Avi and Abs winning leading to another tiebreaker. In the end Hufflepuff won meaning Slytherin got last and Hufflepuff got third. Finally it was between Eba and Nemo for Gryffindor and Kaz and Alli for Ravenclaw. Kaz and Alli both won meaning Ravenclaw won the duels. Finally, Cam added all the points from each team together to determine the final winner. Slytherin got 4th with 3 points, Hufflepuff got 3rd with 18 points, Gryffindor got second with 24 points and Ravenclaw just about won with 25 points!
Thank you so much for this event Cam, it was so enjoyable! - Ham Hey Everyone! On Tuesday Sophia (Soap) Puppyvalley hosted a coordinates and orientation themed event, creatively titled “Run, Run, Run”! After some “cats and boots” from Alli, at 7pm we all met at Steve's Farm, wearing our Moon Explorers uniforms, and listened up whilst Soap explained the rules. As Soap explained, she’d start the event by giving us a pair of coordinates, in the form of X/Y. For example, the first coordinates were X: 191, Y: 155, which ended up being right near Landon, in the Everwind fields. Soap enlisted three helpers for the event, (Olivia Deerdotter, Elizabeth Ponyson and Kateyln Sealand), who were each waiting at certain coordinates. Once we had individually gotten to the first coordinates, we meet the helper at that location who then gave us the coordinates to find the next helper, and so on, until finally, we located Soap right inside SGEC. The trick was, we weren’t allowed our horses, and had to run around on foot the whole time! This made it more difficult to navigate, and a lot easier to wind up going in the wrong direction. In the end, Allison (Alli) Cloudmore was the first to reach soap, followed by Adele (Eagle) Eagleport. Since the coordinates game took less time than Soap expected, she decided to add a racing game for fun! The rules were quite straightforward: Soap would say a location (for instance, Valedale Stables), and everyone would race to get there first, by trying to find the shortest possible route. Once again, we had to race on foot, which meant some of the further locations took quite a while. As the game progressed, Soap added extra rules to make it more difficult, for example, “you can only race on main roads, and not on grass” or, “you can only walk, not run”. Thanks to everyone for coming, and a big thank you to Soap for hosting the event, I thought it was really fun!

On the 1st of September, Georgia Winterrider and Zoey Cutebear hosted a mini games event. We met at Fort Pinta beach to begin with. The whole event itself was quite basic and didn’t require much effort however it turned out to be really enjoyable! The first game we played was truth or dare. We got into a circle and the person on our right asked us truth or dare, then obviously depending on the answer they’d give a truth or a dare. It turned out to be a hilarious game, with some dares including Liz singing “only you” on global, Soap leaving the club and joining a new one for a few seconds and Alli adding a random person to the club, along with truths such as “Have you ever cried at a film before?” or “Have you ever peed in a pool?” The second game we played was “would you rather”. Zo stood as A and Geo stood as B, and they would name different questions, such as “would you rather eat thin pancakes or thick pancakes?” or “would you rather only eat to survive or only drink to survive?” and we would run to either A or B (dismounted) depending on what we preferred. We had quite a few games of this and it was a lot of fun! For the third and final game we played “never have I ever”. After mounting our horses again, we all got into a circle and one by one somebody would say a statement that they had never done, for example “never have I ever thought about leaving Moon Explorers” or “never have I ever stolen something from a shop”. If you hadn’t done it you would stay mounted but if you had you would dismount and run to the middle of the circle. Some of the statements lead to people you wouldn’t expect dismounting! At the end of the event we took some beach themed pictures that you can find over on our Instagram, as well as going to the disco to finish.
Thank you Geo and Zo for hosting this event, it was amazing! - Ham |
