Hello everyone! Nik here, and today the club hosted another open event for our waiting list members to get to know the club better and even increase their chances of joining ME in the future. This week the theme was forest themed. At 6:15 everyone arrived at Dew's Paddock dressed as different animals that live in the forest (foxes, deer, squirrels, bears, etc) riding any horse. Alli then split everyone into 3 groups which were lead by our Riding Instructors Olivia Deerdotter, Ursula Moonwood, Hannah Dolphincamp, myself, Allison Cloudmore and help from one of our champions Naomi Eastweb that filled in for Leah Bravestream. As usual, there were 3 different games that were played within all the groups. The first game was called Predator and Prey and in this game 2 - 3 people were chosen to be the Predators, and the rest where the Prey. The Prey had 30 seconds to hide anywhere in the forest (not too far obviously) and then the Predators were released to go and find them. To catch the Prey the Predators had to /point and then the Prey had to return back to the starting point. The second game was called "What am I?". Everyone had to line up in front of their group helper which had already chosen a forest dwelling animal that they had in mind for everyone else to guess. The group helper went down the line and each person got to ask a question to try and guess what animal the group helper was thinking of for example "Is it a carnivore?" "Is it big?" "Does it live in trees?". They could only be yes or no questions. Once everyone asked one question each, everyone was allowed to shout out what animal they thought the group helper was thinking of, and the first person who got it correct won the game. The final game was called Sleeping Bear and this was basically played much like What's The Time Mr. Wolf. Everyone had to dismount and then line up crouching. The group helper stood a good bit away from everyone else and the aim was to be the first person to crouch walk all the way to the group helper without being caught moving. At random times, the group helper was allowed to turn around and face everyone. Once they had turned, everyone had to suddenly stop moving and the last person to stop had to go to beginning of the line. At 7:15 all the groups made their way to Firgrove Stables for a picture and a picnic while the club sent in their votes on who they would like to join. After Alli, the Leaders and Riding Instructors had a long discussion on who they wanted to join and who should move up on the Shortlist, it was decided that Dextra Eastwatcher, Annalisa Diamondwell and Adele Eagleport were being added to the club today! A massive welcome to you three I hope you guys have an amazing time in the club, and also a big thank you to everybody who came to the open event today, I hope you enjoyed it and made some new friends and got to learn a bit more about the club. See you all again at the next open event on 13th September!
See you next time, - Nik

Hello everyone! On Monday Alli hosted a remake of an old event she did back in FR called "Know Your Frosties", only this time it was called "Know Your Explorers"! At 7:00, we all met up at Mistfall Paddock wearing our uniform. In this event there were loads of questions testing your knowledge and how much you knew about the club. The person at the end of the event who received the most points was crowned the "Most Knowledgeable Explorer" who would then get a special certificate from Alli. The first game was called "Who Said That?". Alli called out different quotes said by people in the club, with A B C multiple choice answers of different people. She then showed us jump A, B and C, and we would run to whichever jump we thought was the correct answer. If we chose the wrong answer, we went and mounted our horses and waited till the next round. The last person standing gets 3 points, second person 2 points and third person 1 point. Here are some example quotes said by a few club members: "I'd rather talk to my kayak than a horse." A: Craney, B: Lisa, or C: Ape, the answer was obviously Lisa. "Ogres have layers." A: Rachel/Pai, B: Liz, or C: Alli, the answer being Rachel. "Come downstairs there's QUACK" A: Alli, B: Craney, or C: myself, and the answer was me. After a few rounds of this, we all then headed over to the lily pads for our next game. Alli told us that she was going to be calling out different ME/FR related questions and that we would have 2 minutes to friend chat Alli our answer. If we got the answer correct, we got to move one step forward on to the next lily pad. The aim was to be the first person to make it all the way around the lily pads and back onto the island. If we got the answer wrong or didn't answer in time, we had to stay where we were. Alli started off with some easy questions like "Who were the two previous owners of the club?" and "Where was the club created?" but then gave us some harder questions like "How many different roles do we have in our Discord server?" and "Who made the FR logo?" The first people who got all the way around the lily pads and back to the island was myself, Gru and Ape and each of us earned 3 points. Alli then counted up everyone’s points and gave us the overall winners. In joint 3rd place with 2 points were Soap, Sab and Abs, in joint 2nd with 3 points was Ape and Gru and in 1st place with 5 points was myself! Thank you Alli for a very fun event and thank you for the certificate! See you next time, - Nik PS. Check out the YouTube video about this event! On Saturday, April Easthurricane and Greta Queenpaw hosted a "Saving The Day" event, which had a theme around superheros. At 7:30pm, we all met up at Steve's Farm dressed in superhero outfits whilst riding our Morgan horses. The first activity was based around us superheros finding the villains who were Ape and Gru. The aim of the game was to discover the locations which the clues lead to, and then once we found them they would give us more clues and so on until we found the very last place. Here are some examples of the clues: "You can't find me! I'm near a big, brown furry beast. Better hurry before the animal feasts!" - The answer was the Bear's Cave. "You can't find me! I'm at a house, abandoned and burnt down away from any civillisation and town." - The answer was the Abandoned Summer House. "You can't find me! Dressage, jumping you name it. It's a great place to keep you and your horse fit!" - The answer was the Riding Arena. In 5th place was Sun's group, 4th place was Dotty's group, 3rd place was Alli, 2nd place was Ham's group, and finally 1st place went to my group! Since the first activity finished quite fast, we all met back up at Steve's Farm to play Guess Who. Ape or Gru chose a random person, and the rest of us had to guess who they came dressed up as. The outfits varied from Spider man, Batman, Cat woman, and many more.
For the last half of the event, Alli did another game of Minefields. Head on over to the Minefield event blog post to see how this game works in full explanation. After one long game of Minefields, Ham's group finally won the game! Thank you to Ape and Gru for hosting such a fun event, with a unique theme to it! -Liz Hello everyone! On the 21st of August Elizabeth Ponyson and Nikolett Highfoot hosted a monopoly event. To start off, we met at the New Hillcrest stables. The rules for the event were very similar to monopoly. To replace using a board we moved around to different houses in New Hillcrest earning money, starting with £10. To actually earn the money you had to answer a ME or SSO related question, and if you got the answer right you would earn £5 and if not you would earn none. Everyone would then move to the next house to get asked the next question. Some questions didn’t require researching for most people as they were quite easy, like “How many golden horseshoes to you have the chance to collect every day at the Cloud Kingdom?” which most people got (the answer was 40) since it only came out recently. However, some were much more difficult, like “For how many days has ME been around?” which you needed to calculate, or “If you expand your stable to the maximum amount of stalls, how many stalls do you have” which I don’t think anyone knew from memory. At some parts of the event, Liz and Nik announced either a “Step Up” which meant a random person would earn an extra £5 or “Step Back” which meant a random person would lose £5. This was decided by a randomizer. In the end, the two winners in joint first with £75 were Allison Cloudmore and Paige Cranedew!
Thank you so much for this event Liz and Nik, it was really enjoyable! -Ham Hello everyone! Today Alli hosted yet another fill-in event for Eleanor Ponygirl since her launcher still didn't work. At 7:00, we all met up at the Fort Pinta disco in uniform riding our morgans. First Alli put us all into groups: Sun, Nemo, Ele and Leah as one group, myself, Liz, Cam and Ape as another and finally Urs, Kat, Dotty, Vio and Soap. The game that we were going to play was called "Minefield". Alli then chose 3 people to be the leaders for each group which were myself, Leah and Urs. Urs' team took off their hats and Leah's team took off their gloves so that Alli could identify which people were in which teams for the game. We then all lined up single file in our teams in front of one line of the disco squares. The aim of the game was to get to the other side of the disco floor by only taking one step each time on each square of the dance floor and we could only choose to go forward, backwards, left or right. The person at the front of the line for each team got to move first and continued to move until they got out. When the first person got out, the person behind them goes and they move to the back of their teams line. However, there was a catch. Alli chose some squares of the dance floor which had mines underneath them and if we stepped on one we were out and we have to start again from the beginning. This game also included team effort because in our teams we had to try and remember which squares had mines underneath them so that we didn't get caught out the next time. After many fails and many close wins, Urs' group finally won the first round. A few clever people noticed that Alli had created a pattern on where she placed the different mines! For the second round, Leah's team won, and for the final round my team won! This of course called for a tiebreaker! Alli asked us what we wanted as a tiebreaker and many of us said a race. We all headed down to the beach and lined up there. Everyone chose 1 person from their team to partake in the race. I raced for my team, Leah for her team and Dotty for hers. All 3 of us lined up on the top wooden platform. We then had to race to Alli, who was waiting at Fort Pinta stables. We were allowed to put on any racing gear and choose any route we wanted. I managed to get there first, making my team the winners! Well done Liz, Ape and Cam.
Thank you Alli for another really fun fill-in event! See you next time, -Nik Hey everyone! Yesterday, we hosted our biweekly open event for the Waiting List to attend. This week there was no theme, so everyone met up in normal clothes at Dew's Paddock in Epona for 6:15. At 6:30 I started splitting everyone up into one of three groups, hosted by our group leaders Paige Waterfall, Elizabeth Ponyson, Nikolett Highfoot and their helpers, Ursula Moonwood, Leah Bravestream and myself, Allison Cloudmore. Each group played a couple different games, the first being Shapes. Everyone was split into teams of 4 - 5 people and the aim of the game to was to make the shape that was called out (for example, square, triangle, circle, "X", "T", "L") using only their bodies/horses. The second game was more of a classic, Stuck in the Mud. The catchers would "/point" at other people to stick them in the mud, and to become unstuck someone had to crouch walk through them. The last game was Guess the NPC (non playable character). Different descriptions of characters were called out and everyone had to shout out their guesses in the chat, the first person to get it correct won. A couple of examples were, "They have red hair, and work with Dark Core" (Darko), "One of the first characters to have a same sex partner, they have ginger hair, and they wear hoop earrings" (Sigry), "They reside in South Hoof and are very anti-social" (Hermit). After the games, each group met back up at the Riding Hall for a picture and a picnic while members voted for who they wanted inside the club. Not long after, Bella Monsterfire and Savannah Sunhurricane were invited into the club. A big welcome to you both! Thank you to everyone who came to our open event, I had a great time meeting and getting to know you all! I hope to see you all again at our next one on the 30th August. Until then, thanks for reading!
- Alli Hello, everyone! Hopefully, you all are enjoying the rest of your summer holidays while they last! Anyhow, yesterday, Rachel/Paige Waterfall hosted a meme-themed event. Around 7 o’clock, after a bit of technical difficulties, we all gathered at the circus in our ME uniforms. Since the event was heavily orientated around Discord, we were also told to have it open in advance. Once everyone was settled, under Rachel’s instructions we all got into groups of three or four and chose one member of our group to be the “communicator”. The communicator for each group then pmed Rachel who else was on their team. As Rachel explained, there would be multiple rounds, each with a different meme theme. For example, “random images that must have a Star Stable related caption” or on the other hand, “Star Stable images with any caption”. Rachel would send various images to the whole club for each round, one by one (via Discord). Each team then had four minutes to come up with a funny caption, in accordance with the theme for that round. The communicator for each team then had to PM Rachel their decided caption within the time limit. Once all of the teams had sent in their caption, Rachel ranked them from best/funniest to worst, with the better captions receiving more points. A lot of teams got quite creative. The captions included topics ranging from the club, to the members, to cats, to old jokes no one understands. In order to not get chat ban or censored while coming up with meme ideas, a few teams created group channels on Discord so they could talk freely. Once we had gone through all the meme themes, Rachel sent us a final image for a bonus round. To raise the competition, the team with the best caption would receive an extra five points. The winner of the extra points went to Camilla Greenstone’s team, well done! In the end, Allison Cloudmore’s team (with Paige Cranedew and Leah Bravestream) tied for first place with Camilla Greenstone’s team (with Abbie Sharksmith, Sophia Puppyvalley and Georgia Winterrider), well done pals!
Alright, who’s got my maroon 5 cd, thanks to Rachel for a wild and fun event, and thanks to everyone for coming! See you next time, - Leah Hello everyone! Today Eleanor Ponygirl was supposed to be hosting a Disney event, but it turned out that her SSO launcher was playing up so Alli stepped in and decided to do a "Team games" event! At 7:00, we all met up at the Overlook Chasm in uniform riding our morgans. Alli then separated us all into groups of 4-5 for the group activities. The first game was called "Shapes" and what we had to was make the shape(s) that Alli called out in our teams using our bodies/horses. Alli then picked the team who she thought made the best shape, which earned that team 1 point. For the first shape, "T", Dotty's team earned 1 point. Ape's team won the "V" shape, Cam's team won the square shape, Soap's group won the "L" shape and Liz's group won the circle shape. For the next activity, we all rode down to the bottom of riding hall and lined up at the gate entrance to GHV. Alli went and stood at the bottom of the hill near the Riding Hall and the aim of the game was to run to Alli. The 1st person who reached Alli won 3 points for their team, 2nd person 2 points and 3rd person 1 point. Ale was 1st, Avi 2nd and Soap 3rd. We then went to the river that crossed over to the Forgotten Fields and lined up ready to race to Alli only this time she was standing at Unfortunate Dew's Farm by the stable. In 1st place was Soap, 2nd was Ale and 3rd was Liz. For the final race, we followed the path that headed to Goldspur and lined up there. Alli was standing at the end of the small bridge that crossed over from Dew's to the path that went to Goldspur. 1st place was won by Soap, 2nd Abs and 3rd Ale. For the final activity, we all galloped to Jarlaheim and lined up dismounted just outside the entrance. Alli then went and hid somewhere inside the walls of Jarlaheim, the first person that found Alli would earn 3 points for their team, the second person 2 points and the 3rd person 1 point. Once someone from our team had found Alli, we could not earn anymore points because it was 1st 2nd 3rd from each team. Here is one of the places that Alli hid in: To close off the event, we all went to the fountain in the centre of Jarleheim where we lined up for some SSO/ME trivia which gave us the chance to earn some last minute points for our team. Alli said a question, and the first person to call out the correct answer on club chat got 1 point for their team. Example questions: When was ME created? What's the max amount of members in one club? Who were the old co-owners of FR? And a 3 pointer question: What month and year did Alli start playing SSO? Alli then added up all the points and read out the final scores. In 4th place was Kat, Gru, Cam and Forcey with 8 points, in joint 3rd and 2nd was Juju, Nemo, myself, Liz & Ale, Dotty, Vio, Avi with 17 points! And in 1st place was Soap, Abs, Ape and Loz who beat all the groups with 18 points! Well done everyone. Thank you so much Alli for a very last minute, but really fun event!
See you next time, - Nik Hi everyone! On Thursday, Lisa Silentland hosted an event based around Dressage. We all arrived at Jorvik Stables Arena in uniform with some small changes so that we were all at similar speeds, which was important to make the event work for the accuracy of dressage. Here are the following changes that were made: no ribbons, no gloves, no horseshoes and we had to wear the Black Jorvik Bridle, whilst riding our Morgans. Li created some very detailed diagrams that she sent over on Discord before the event, so that we could practice it/understand it before the event started. Here is an example: With a little help from the diagrams, Li taught us the dressage routine in a worded version, with Allison Cloudmore as the group leader. Some of the routine included us splitting into two groups, lead by myself and Alli, and then doing two different circles at opposite sides of the area, and finally trotting to the back/front (which you can see in the diagram above). After a few practices and learning more about the routine, we got the hang of things and learnt everything pretty quickly! Well done to Li for dealing with us and being a great teacher overall. A massive thank you to Li for hosting this fun dressage event, I’d like to see more events in the future from you. - Liz Hi everyone! On the 7th of August Ivy Pinerock and April Easthurricane hosted an event which involved doing different jobs that would earn us "cash". We met at Dundull paddock to start. We were sent instructions on discord for what we needed to do and how much it would earn us depending on the task. You could get £1 for feeding the horses at Silverglade Equestrian Centre, for example, or £5 for hosting a riding lesson. The harder it was to complete would contribute to how much you could earn for it. No transport was allowed until the last 5 minutes so it made it quite difficult to complete some of the tasks (like visiting Pi the witch since Golden Hills is at the other side of Jorvik). After 45 minutes we met back at the Dundull Paddock and sent Prune our scores. After seeing everyone’s scores her and Ape announced the winners. In third was Ele with £19, in second was Soap with £21 and finally in first was Liz with £32!
Thank you Prune and Ape for hosting this event! -Ham |
